What the scanner effect adds

The output combines raster pages, a slight page tilt and scanner margins. The paper noise option adds an off-white tone, soft unevenness and sparse dust specks in colour and grayscale modes.

For a cleaner result, turn paper noise off. In black and white mode paper noise is not applied, even when the switch is enabled.

Colour, grayscale or black and white?

Colour keeps coloured diagrams, highlights and stamps. Grayscale keeps their tonal differences while removing colour. Black and white is useful for plain text, but subtle shades and light marks need careful checking in the output.

Quality controls page detail and file size. Medium is a useful starting point; high is better for small print. A scanned appearance does not require choosing low quality.

Optional binding and page numbers

Leave binding set to none for a plain scan. Thread, ribbon, corner, spiral and hole-punch options add the corresponding visual marks. When a binding style is selected, you can also enable a title sheet or a bound-document certification sheet.

Page numbering is a separate option. Check that added numbers and binding marks do not cover existing content before sending the file.

FAQ

How do I turn off the paper texture?
Disable paper noise before processing. The scan effect still renders the pages with scanner margins and a slight tilt.
Why does paper noise have no effect in black and white?
Paper noise is not applied in black and white mode. Use colour or grayscale to retain its soft paper tones.
Do I need binding for a scanner effect?
No. Choose no binding for a plain scanned appearance; the other styles are optional visual effects.
